It was another beautiful weekend to get out and ride! We have some great pictures on our FB Page and our current Participants are well on their way to earning their minimum points to be eligible for the $1000 Grand Prize at the End of the Tour.

If you haven’t registered, do so now and have your passport by next weekend. Right now the forecast for next weekend is mid to upper 60’s and more importantly, NO RAIN!!! I do believe Spring has finally Sprung. Also remember that once you get your minimum sponsor points for the Grand Prize, you don’t have to be present to win. You do have to be present at the End of Tour Party for the rest of the prizes though. The Party is alot of fun and one you don’t want to miss.

I will be revealing the location of the 1st Mystery Stop at the end of the week. This stop will be alot of fun and who doesn’t like a good scavenger hunt. But in this case, it’s a human hunt. I’ll be on FB the whole day letting you know where I am at the site to get your 10 Bonus Points. Here are a couple of hints, there will be music, there’s a cool country shop and lots of other things to see. Have any idea where it is???

Have a Good Evening and I’ll be back soon!!!

If you would like the GPS file for Garmin, please email me at

I am unable to download the file to this site. Thanks

For most of us, today was a really crappy day and it’s still not over. I see dark clouds as I look out of my office and waiting for the skies to open up again. But the good news is, this weekend is going to be great riding weather. We have had 9 more people sign up, just today. So it’s never too late to start the Grand Tour.

We also have some great participants that are helping to make this Tour a success. Cal Hagan will be forwarding GPS files for the tour that are compatible with a Garmin GPS. This can help you locating some of the sponsors if you use a GPS. So as soon as the files are forwarded to me, I will be posting on this site.

If you haven’t registered, do so now and you could be riding this weekend!!!

I’ve gotten quite a few calls in the past couple of days concerning registration.

REGISTRATION will remain open! The Grand Tour runs from now through October 20th, so there is plenty of time to register and earn your points. We started the Grand Tour a week early because everyone was getting cabin fever and last Saturday the weather was perfect for riding, so it was time to start.

This doesn’t mean you are behind or won’t have time to do the Grand Tour. This event is a “Do as you want”, there is no specific order you need to complete the Tour and for those that have time restraints, you only have to earn 127 Sponsored Points to be eligible for the $1,000 Grand Prize.

So get your registration in, I’ll mail your passport and you can begin the Tour. It’s as easy as that. What’s a better way to try to win $1000, you get to get out on your bike, enjoy beautiful scenery, fun events, great food and good company with your riding companions.

The 1st Mystery Stop will be revealed at the end of next week! Have a good evening and I’ll get back soon.

The Motorcycle Grand Tour of Virginia 2017 is off to a great start. The weather on Saturday was perfect riding weather and alot of our participants got out to start collecting stamps and see the sites in different areas. There were a few side stops, like an ice cream shop, small unique stores and lunch by the water.

The Grand Tour is a way to get out and see what Virginia has to offer. There is so much history, scenic sites, mountains and in every town there is that one special stop you just have to make. You don’t have to stick to the sponsored stops, be spontaneous, find a new route that you enjoy. Let everyone know what you see and what new spot, area or town you come across. We may be able to get them into the Tour in 2018. It’s all up to you as to how far we can take this Tour in future years.

There is always something going on in Virginia throughout the year. Festivals, concerts, bluegrass, fun places to just visit, civil war sites, War Monuments and the Native American arts and areas that are filled with history on how Virginia was settled throughout the Appalachia to Railroads built to go out west. There is something for everyone. So don’t just concentrate on points, concentrate on the beauty that surrounds you and enjoy the ride.

If you register by Wednesday at 3pm, you should receive your passports by Friday to be able to ride this weekend. So register today to begin your own adventure.

Just in Case you missed it on FB!

We have some great pics of our participants, both solo and in groups, who took advantage of the gorgeous weather yesterday. Some went off the sponsor list and that’s okay, because this is YOUR TOUR!!! The Grand Tour was designed for Participants to see ALL parts of Virginia.

One rider had a craving for ice cream, others wanted lunch, so if you see something interesting on your adventure, stop and check it out for everyone else, send us the pic and we’ll see if they want to join the Tour in 2018. It’s suppose to be Fun, Spontaneous and something New on every trip.

Here are a couple of pictures sent by our Participants.

The weather was perfect, the riders were pumped and pictures are starting
to come in on our FB Page. It was a fantastic start to the Virginia Motorcycle
Grand Tour of Virginia 2017.

Some of the riders were able to obtain 5 stamps in their book today, plus eat
lunch and do a little shopping while they were out. Fredericksburg seemed to
be the place to start with a few stops at Fredericksburg Motorsports, Indian
Motorcycles of Fredericksburg and then some headed to Luray, Virginia and see
Allstar Lodging. Some headed south to Ashland and Country Inn & Suites of Ashland.

So all in all, it was a good day. Participants, don’t forget to email a copy of your
receipts so I can log them. Please DO NOT get rid of the receipts until you receive an
email from me that they are logged in. Every dollar counts for those extra points.

If you haven’t registered for the Tour, there is still plenty of time. This is a 5-1/2
month event and you do it at your own pace. So get your registrations in and start riding
next weekend. The weather is looking great for later in the week.

Don’t forget that we will be having Mystery Stops too! I’ll be revealing the 1st Mystery
Stop on April 5th, so either check our FB Page or back to this website for more.

Enjoy the rest of your Weekend!!!
