VDOT to Begin Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month Campaign

May 1st through May 31st

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and the Virginia Coalition of Motorcyclists (VCOM) have discussed VDOT’s upcoming annual Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month Campaign which will begin next week.  VDOT will be utilizing changeable message signs, portable changeable message signs, highway advisory radio, and 511 to remind motorists to watch for motorcycles and to share the road.

VCOM welcomes VDOT’s concern for motorcycle safety along with their efforts, both past and present, to work with VCOM in order to make Virginia roads safer for motorcyclists.  As always if you have any questions or comments concerning this or any other matter regarding motorcycle law and/or motorcycle safety, please do not hesitate to contact me.
